How to Add External Security Groups Follow
How to create external security groups.
First locate a the entity you like to create the security group. (example used Trainee Ramses)
click on the site button located at the upper right hand corner.
On the site level you can see what Portal security groups you have at the bottom of the page.
When you have security groups
when you have no security groups
The only user that can add security group is an admin of the portal. This profile is by default deactive.
Click on the Administrator User name and will be redirect to the subscriber page of the admin.
Set the active: to yes and add a letter into the email. (example used is n) Click save.
The admin profile has become active.
Click on the green arrow next to the user id. This will take you to the portal of the entity as an admin.
Click on Admin located at the upper right hand corner.
Click Security Group
.
Click on New Group
This is the page where you create a new portal security group and set the permissions.
Type the name of the security group. Example (public).
Click save at the upper right location.
Set the security features you want this group to have. In this example all that is allowed is view files. Click save.
Next is to add subscribers to this security group.
Click on Add next to add members
Choose what subscriber is suppose to be in this security group and click save at the upper right hand corner.
This has add Ramses Cyrus to this security group.
If you need to make more security groups
Click the add button at the upper right location
That will bring a new blank screen for security groups and you can repeat the steps.
Once you have completed adding all the security groups log out of the portal.
Log back into ichannel and go back to the site of the entity. When you scroll to the bottom of the site page you will see the security groups for the portal.
Finally deactivate the admin of the portal by clicking on the admin user.
Switch active to No and click save.
You have added a security group to the portal.
